The service mark St. Linus University (SLU) is a business name registered in the Philippines with Certificate No. 00469734 in compliance with the provisions of Act No. 3883, as amended by Act No. 4147 and Republic Act No. 863 vis-a-vis the applicable rules and regulations prescribed by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Pursuant to the Manual of Regulations for Private Higher Education (MORPHE) on the use and restriction of the word "university" for company formation in the Philippines, St. Linus University is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as St. Linus Online Institute (SLOI) as the Auxiliary Service Provider (of St. Linus University, Dominica) with Company Reg. No. CN200817531.
According to CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 02, series of 2008 "Auxiliary services refer to the services that support of the delivery of educational services such as promotion, recruitment of students, testing, admission, registration, processing of payments, student orientation, providing access to communication technologies, proctoring examinations and such other related activities but not to include teaching and learning activities." See Art. II, no. 5, p. 2.
The purpose(s) for which our Article of Incorporation is(are) based on said definition.
The CHED authorizes St. Linus University to operate in the Philippines under Category IB1 (and Category IB2 respectively) where "the Foreign Higher Education Provider (FHEP) has no local presence of business and all teaching and learning activities are done via distance education and purely through the internet (Category IB1)." See CMO 02, s. 2008: Art. VII, no. 1, p. 10.
Whereas CMO 02, s. 2008: Art. IV, IB (p. 6) states that "The program is offered directly by an awarding institution with no local agent / franchisee / partner. The institution may be an FHEP with students in the Philippines (IB1), or a Philippine HEI with students abroad (IB2)." See CHED Certification below. Cf. CMO 02, s. 2008: Art. VIII, no. 1, p. 11.
St. Linus University is duly registered in Dominica - a United Nations Member State - as a Higher Education Institution (HEI) online with Company Reg. No. 14724 and a Certificate of Good Standing as per the COMMONWEALTH OF DOMINICA STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS (SRO) NO. 65 OF 1996.
The SRO 65 (ACT No. 10 of 1996) of Dominica authorizes SLU to offer degree- and non-degree programs in various field of specializations. As a legal document, SLU's apostilled degree is recognized by all member countries of the1961 Hague Apostille Convention whereas SLOI's embassy legalized degree is recognized by all member countries of the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has awarded Government Recognition (Accreditation) to St. Linus University thru St. Linus Online Institute the right to operate in the Philippines and abroad as a Transnational Education Provider with a unique CHED Institutional Code No. 03256.

In keeping with our vision, mission, and objective, we have committed ourselves to collaborate with the United Nations and other international organizations in exigency of service:
St. Linus University is a registered member of the United Nations integrated Civil Society Organizations (iCSO) system and seeking a consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
The iCSO is developed by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) to facilitate interactions between civil society organizations and DESA.The DESA NGO Branch is the focal point within the UN Secretariat for non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the ECOSOC and for NGOs seeking status.
St. Linus University is a registered member of the United Nations Global Compact. The UNGC is the largest voluntary corporate responsibility initiative in the world with two complementary objectives: "Mainstream the ten principles in business activities around the world" and "Catalyse actions in support of broader UN goals, such as the Millennium Development Goals."
We support, embrace and enact, within our sphere of influence, as a set of values, the UNGC ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
St. Linus University is a registered member of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). PRME is a global UN-sponsored network consisting of business schools and universities, all committed to integrating a number of principles of sustainability and social responsibility into their research and education. Today, the network numbers more than 400 higher educational institutions.
As an institution of higher education, responsible for the development of current and future managers, we commit ourself to implementing the six principles of PRME as it seeks to establish a process of continuous improvement among institutions of management education in order to develop a new generation of business leaders capable of managing the complex challenges faced by business and society in the 21st century.
